Great news on the cancer recovery. I had found something in my armpit, it was a small lump, it throbbed a bit on and off, so I was ‘a bit’ concerned. This was in the armpit that all my cancerous lymph nodes were removed (22 of the little buggers), the same side as the mastectomy. Because its not possible to mammogram this side, self examination is the only way to pick anything up. I examine myself very regularly (as should you all xxx) but there is all sorts of scar tissue, tendons, ribs, skin, etc in there, so its difficult to know what the lumps and bumps are, also I never know whether something has changed or if I’m just standing a different way, or have my arm at a different angle – add to that, I have a little bit of, I’d say understandable ?, paranoia.
I spoke to the breast cancer team and they were very supportive and said they would send out an appointment for an examination – they did but it was for 3 weeks later !! that feels like a really long time.
The doctor who examined me was great – she pretty much immediately said she’d book me in for an ultrasound – of course, this added to my stress levels, as there was no hesitation !! She said she’d send out an appointment – and I’d be seen in about 3 weeks…another 3 weeks !! deep breaths required….try not to worry !!! So I pretty much pushed the worry to the back of my mind, and I tried to keep my mind off it by sticking to my run, bike, swim plans and not letting IT get the better of me !! Until the few days before the ultrasound appointment when I tried to prepare myself for bad news. I decided, if the cancer was back, I’d sell the house and give up work – I think I mentioned that to Chris ?!? I’m sure he would be fine with that lol
So, the good news is that the ultrasound showed some surgical clips that could be rubbing and causing the pain, I might also be getting more feeling back in my armpit after the surgeries, as quite alot of my armpit and my upper arm is / was numb. The doctor did a really thorough ultrasound of that whole area and she was happy that there was nothing sinister to be found. Thaaaaaaannnkkkk fekkkk !!!! Back to work it is 😪

I’ve been doing lots of training for the Lakesman Triathlon – its only 4 weeks away – yikes !!! I’ve been trying to do more cycling – good idea !! since I have to be able to cycle 56 miles and then run a half marathon !!! oh and don’t forget the 1.9km swim beforehand 🙄

And racing :-)))) Tay Ten Mile Race (came away with £70 actual pound – and a bottle wine !! 3rd wifie)

Look away now if you are squeamish :-//

Angus’s dislocated elbow !! The funniest thing is, when they knocked him out to put his elbow back in, (which was difficult because he is so big and muscly apparently !!!) he was talking about sandwiches, and telling the nurses not to put tomato on his sandwiches because he doesn’t like tomatoes lol

Granny’s birthday – lovely fam xxxxx missing Ro :-((((

So – I’m keeping on with the training – bike, bike, bike , run, run, swim (when I can be bothered :-/) – no worrying about the cancer !! and looking forward to / nervous, scared / excited to do the Lakesman tri – keep your fingers crossed for me :-)) xxxxx
