Hello chickpeas my old friend……:-)

I’ve been eating you again…..

More about the chickpeas in a minute.

Great news from my last mammogram – left boob – no evidence of cancer – yipeeee :-)) This is only leftie, obviously because you can’t mammogram a boob that’s been chopped off 😁😆, and I still worry about the righthand non-boob side, because the cancer was in my lymph nodes on the right, so who knows where else it could be over there. I have found a wee something over there in my arm pit just recently, so I have another scan just to check it out. Its probably just scar tissue but will keep you updated !! Anyway I celebrated left boob’s good news with a box of Roses :-)))

I have also been finding that my asthma ? is a bit worse, a bit breathless, with a tight chest, sometimes dizzy, tingly fingers – I thought I was maybe anaemic so I’m getting some blood tests next week for that aswell. BUT I also need to make sure I’m not doing too much in the way of run, bike, swim and make sure I’m fuelling properly (eating enough cheesecake !?). I had a really bad run the other weekend and was really worried, but then I looked back over my spreadsheet (yes lol) and realised I hadn’t had a rest day for 14 days…..yeh !!! and there were quite a few double session days …sooooo…I had a day off !! and an easy (easier) week 🙄 Anyway, I ran the same route again another day and was fine :-)))

So I have been enjoying and doing quite a lot (obviously) of running, biking and swimming. I’ve been enjoying my swimming – I did a CSS (critical swim speed) test with the tri club and felt good. Doing plenty of running, I had a good run at the Forfar Multi half marathon (2nd ‘lady’ !!)

and the masters cross country in Elgin.

I’m still enjoying the Zwifting :-))) I even cycled out in the real world !! and it was great :-)) and I did the cycle leg of the St. Andrews tri which was freezing but great :-)) great team 🙂

I have also been expanding my horizons !!!? away from sports and full on action all the time.- using the other side of my brain !? I do read alot, but at school, I loved art and music – I played the violin from P4 and played with the Dundee Strathspey and Reel Society before I went to Uni, and loved it, so…I’ve picked up my fiddle again and have been going to DSRS practices again – its great, I’m pretty rubbish still, but I’m so enjoying it :-))) We are playing a concert in May – yeehaaa (playing all of the right notes…but not necessarily in the right order hahaha – Morecambe and Wise😂).

I’ve talked about the amazing stuff the Maggies Centre in Dundee does for people with cancer, and their families. They also hold lots of great charity events. I took myself waaaaayyyy out of my comfort zone and signed up for a Zumbathon for Maggies – it was hilarious – again I was rubbish, but I did ‘dance’ for the the full 2 hours – well I say dance, it was more like jumping around, trying and failing to copy the routines – they are so complicated !!

I also went to watch my awesome friend (that I met at a Maggies session) do a fire walk !!! for Maggies – there was a group of people who did it and she said it was absolutely brilliant – she was buzzing for days :-)))

I’ve also signed up for a guided tour from the Howff in Dundee – a little bit of history and cuuultchur 🙂 They are doing a 10k coastal trail walk and BBQ in August, and a 5K run around the Dundee airport runway !! I think I’ll have to do that 🙂

Apart from all that, I’m still missing the boy in NZ – he’s away catching mahooosive fish (a 96kg Marlin !!!). And Angus had his 24th birthday !!!

Oh yeh – the chickpeas !!! So it seems that my stomach has decided that the chickpeas, other legumes !!, etc., that were causing me all sorts of ‘issues’ are now OK – and going for TMI – I may have gone the other way :-/ so now I’m eating lots of chickpeas, lentils, spicy food, and coffee hahaa its nice to be able to eat whatever I like and not have issues or toilet stops when I’m out running yipeeee !

Ok y’all byeeee xxxx
