8 miles !!!

I can’t believe I’ve just run 8 miles !!!

Yesterday was a 10 scone day !! It wasn’t me that ate them all. So today I made some more and I’m refuelling after my run (did I mention I ran 8 miles !?!?) with scones, CLOTTED CREAM and jam – oh yes – clotted cream (thank you Rory 😁😁) (clotted cream first – jam on top).

This week I also had an absolutely amazing massage from the wonderful Sam at SB Therapy (shameless plug 😁😁 http://www.sbsalon.co.uk 😁😁). It’s the first massage I’ve had since my mastectomy, so I was really looking forward to it. I’ve had massages from Sam all throughout my treatments and it’s definitely really important to actually, properly relax and find some ‘me’ time :-)) highly recommended :-)))

So, aswell as running 8 MILES !!, eating scones and relaxing, I’ve been for a swim with the triathlon club – where they (naming no names, MB) cruelly made us swim with our legs tied together !!! don’t try this at home kids !! it was soooo difficult and hilarious, luckily we only had to do 4 lengths !! It was a great session, and its been great being back swimming with the club 😁😁

During chemo, this would have been my ‘ill’ week – I would have been in bed for most of the week, eating not very much and feeling terrible (and possibly in hospital !!) but obviously, this week has been just a weeeeeee bit better than that – yeeehaaaaa !!!

I don’t want to say triathlon training has started again because I don’t want to put any pressure on myself – I just want to enjoy it and take any improvements that come, but I did manage a proper run rep session on Monday with the tri club, I had a great cycle on Tuesday (enjoyable, not fast) and I had a pretty decent run on Wednesday. (Tomorrow is a rest day !!!)

Next week I see my consultant – I have lots of questions for him; what follow up do I get, and how often ? how do they check / how will I know if the chemo was successful ? do I get a CT scan to check the cancer hasn’t gone anywhere else ? do I get mammograms on the other boob ? do I get a heart scan to make sure the treatment hasn’t affected my heart (because it can) ? how do they follow up when there is no boob to do a mammogram on ? how do they check if the Herceptin and Pertuzumab are working ? what are the chances of the cancer coming back ?

Its all still a bit of a roller coaster !!! but I’m feeling good 🤩
