Chemo Number 2

I’m back on the steroids, so I’m totally wired again. I rushed around at work yesterday like headless chicken, talking at a million miles an hour, with a million things running through my brain, and annoying my family haha. And no sleep last night – so I wrote lots of notes and lists for work, for things to do at home, for Xmas presents, for people to message and reply to (otherwise I forget) !! I had to go for a run after work to try and calm myself down !! (it didn’t work 😵‍💫).

Training wise, I’ve been managing to do some swimming, cycling and running – I’m definitely feeling the effects of the chemo though, I’m much more tired, earlier in the sessions and I wouldn’t want to go too far. I swam on Monday, ran on Tuesday, I had a short fast run (steroid run) on Wednesday and a great cycle in the rain and mud with Chris after tea on Wednesday aswell. I do still have a level of anxiety about loosing too much fitness – just because I know how much hard work it is to get it back – you don’t just bounce back, it doesn’t come easy – it is hard work. I do enjoy that hard work though, I guess, – and my sensible head is telling me that I shouldn’t even be thinking about that, I should be concentrating on staying well, resting and recuperating, but my not-sensible, exercise ‘addicted’ head always argues back :-/ but I think I’ll just stick with the ‘if I feel OK and I want to, then I’ll go out and do something (and I’ll try not to worry too much!)’ :-))

Just before we got totally soaked :-))) 🌨️🌨️

Oh…….and the Mohawk has gone 😭 I’m so sorry – but it turns out that a Mohican is not very practical 😖 you spend ages trying to get it into a peak with gel and hairspray, drying it upside down !! (I usually wash and go !). Then you step outside and it gets blown over or falls down haha and it does not work under a bike helmet or swim cap, or a hat !! Also it was getting very patchy, so it had to go. I’m still planning some colours before I go totally baldy 🙂

Hahaha I’ve got horns !! 😂

Hopefully I’ll still be feeling ok to go and watch Rory play rugby in Edinburgh on Friday night and Angus play on Saturday (if they aren’t called off by the rain, rain go away).

I’m not looking forward to feeling ill next week, but I’m hoping to take more / different medications so that I don’t feel so bad, and so that I can keep more food down/in. Fingers crossed 🤞🤞
